So Steph and I, bored at work as usual, were discussing how the terms "shorty," "shawty," and "boo" came into existence, and how are they remotely affectionate. Well, I decided to check out UrbanDictionary.com and see what it had to say:

• Shorty
  1) affectionate term for a girlfriend, attractive female or concubine.
  
  2) Originally used to mean a young man, new to the game. By new to the game, I don't mean he just meant a rapper, but he just started selling crack, just started rapping, whatever, but even simpler it was a term used to mean just a person much younger than you.
  
  Now, commercial rappers have turned the meaning upside down to mean a 'fine female', apparently.
  
  
• Shawty
  1) Fine ass woman, or your girl.
  
  2)A term orginating in Atlanta that, in the beginning, referred to a short person or child, but the span of the word has grown to include any and all people, especially a girl that is attractive; it is mostly used as a term of endearment to others or just a way of addressing someone, like 'Wassup Man,' Instead of "Man", shawty is used.
  
  NOTE: Can be shortened to "shawt" or "shawtdawg".
  
  
• Boo
  1) boo is a term that is derived from the French word "beau" meaning beautiful. In 18th century England it meant an admirer, usually male. It made it's way into Afro-Caribean language perhaps through the French colonisation of some Caribean islands.
  
  Now meaning girl or boyfriend

Now this spawned Steph into checking out her initials S.A.L which means:

• S.A.L
  1) Sucker ass Larry. The guy at the party trying way to hard to be cool. Chicks don't dig him guys don't like him but he thinks he's the shit.

Now this spawned ME into looking up MY initials, T.A.G, which means:

• T.A.G.
  1)An abbreviation for "tits and giggles". The term is associated with people that have huge titties/breasts/boobs and are known for their frequent and annoying laughter. They laugh at stuff that isn't funny and their boobs are gigantic and jiggle with their laughter.
  It can be used as a nickname for a person as well.

THIS made me want to search my actual name, Tara, which apparently means:

• Tara:
  1) to firmly grab ass and hump into submission
  2) Drop dead gorgeous. Used to describe the most amazing person you know. Legendary
  3) A person whose diet consists only of chips (and the occasional sausage) but mainly just chips.
  4) The act of installing trojan ladden software on a friend's computer when they are not paying attention.
  5) A horrible, mind blowing case of camel toe.

I dunno about you guys...but I personally like definition 2
